Saren = Syndrome?

Shepard: "Why are you doing this Saren?!"
Saren: "The Reapers will come back, Shepard. They'll conquer the universe. There's no way to stop them."
Saren moves his floaty platform to the large window in the Council chambers, folds his arms, and looks out at the Citadel.
Saren: "I've touched Sovereign's mind, Shepard. The geth worship it, like a god; the pinnacle of inorganic life. Do you know what it feels? Contempt. Contempt that they worship it!"
Shepard tiptoes out of cover and approaches the control panel.
Saren: "But Sovereign tolerates them, because they serve it. That's the only solution. Think, Shepard! The Protheans were wiped out attempting to resist! This is the only way! I help Sovereign, and Sovereign has promised to spare me. Working with Sovereign, I can save more lives than have ever existed!"
Shepard makes it to the control panel and starts fiddling with his omni-tool.
Saren: "I've studied the indoctrination, and I can resist it! I am myself, and yes, I betrayed the Council... but by opposing me, you might cost trillions of lives! That's why..."
Saren turns around. Seeing Shepard at the control panel, he tosses a grenade, sending Shepard diving back into cover.
Saren: "You sly dog, you caught me monologuing!"
